The Butch Harmon Golf Fitness Program uses the MedX stretch machine to increase flexibility, thereby increasing club head speed. For every 1mph increase in club head speed, two yards will be added on the golf course. More strength and flexibility also improves balance and timing throughout the swing.


Our MedX Golf Training Program utilizes both the MedX Medical Low Back and Neck extension machines, plus the MedX Rotational exercise machine along with the MedX Stretch Machine to improve the strenth and flexibility needed for an active golfer.

What is MedX?

The state-of-the-art computerized MedX medical testing and strengthening equipment is used to test then strengthen the golfers with neck and/or low back weakness or limited range of motion resulting from long-term pain, lack of use and dysfunction.


MedX can identify the weakness in a golfers neck or back muscles, which allows us to then target the spinal weakness and improve a golfers strength and endurance.

MedX’s data recording and processing software allows operators to safely and accurately determine a client’s physical limitations and show improvements in neck and back strength. The software calculates accurate range of motion and muscle strength at numerous joint positions by factoring out torso mass, stored energy, tissue compression and/or joint elasticity, and a lack of reasonable effort by the golfer.

TEST: Strength & Range of Motion

The MedX Cervical Extension Machine is highly reliable and specific in determining cervical extension strength and providing dynamic resistance training. For accurte testing, the MedX machine will isolate the neck muscles that support the cervical spine by supporting the chest and torso.

Back Test

TEST: Strength & Range of Motion

The MedX Lumbar Extension Machine is highly reliable and specific in determining low back extension strength and providing dynamic resistance training. The software calculates accurate range of motion and muscle strength at numerous joint positions. MedX will measure your strength at standardized test points within your pain-free range of motion.

Unlike other spine strengthening exercises that involve muscles in the arms, abdomen or legs, MedX targets only the muscles responsible for maintaining the alignment and anti-gravity properties of the spine. Unique padded restraint system neutralizes shoulder, arm and chest muscles while isolating waistline muscles.

Separate system of padded restraints effectively locks the pelvis and prevents the hip and gluteus muscles from assisting in rotation of the torso.
